24 Hours of Crap

From 4PM yesterday to 9AM this morning has pretty much been not so fun for me and I am in a bad mood because of it. Lets start from the beginning shall we?

So if some of you readers recall, last January I was being treated for Thyroid Cancer. Due to the radiation, I had to take some time off of work. However, no one told me that since I was out for as long as I was, that i had used up all my sick time.

Since this time, I have taken off 3 days due to being sick. I followed protocol, informing my boss the morning of, that I would not be coming into work that day due to being sick. Fine. Whatever. So I found out yesterday, that those 3 days that I called off sick would be deducted from my vacation days. And that the days I had scheduled off for my Christmas break, would either be deducted from my paycheck or I would have to come in and work.

I was pissed because no one told me this is what would happen. And I am now told that a week before my vacation that it will go unpaid. Well tis the season to be pissy I guess.

So that was strike 1 against me. Strike 2 occurred at the gym. This was minor, however just added to my frustration. I planned on going to the gym yesterday for my chest and tricep workout. However, the gym had different plans for me. Once I get there, literally every bench was taken as well as every other piece of equipment I wouldve used. Ok. Fine. I told myself no big deal, Ill just do a back and bicep day. I look around the room, and see that also, all the free weights I wouldve used are gone as well as all the machines are once again being used. I stand there, look around the room full of the hot muscular men, and decide, fine, I can deal with this, I will just do cardio and watch them all work out. Luckily there is one elliptical left. Finely, something is working out for me. So I get all settled in and look up at the TV, and of all things that they couldve had on the TV, the worst thing ever was one. Glenn Beck's talk show on Fox News. Kill me.

Ok its not like my life was being endangered at all or these things are all that bad, but more of annoyances. I went to bed that night saying tomorrow will be a better day. Then I woke up and get ready for my wonderful day at work. As I am about to walk out the door, I do my 1-2-3 check. Cellphone, check. Keys, check. Wallet, check. Oh shit, wait. Wallet, uncheck. Not there in my coat pocket where it should be. I frantically look around my place trying to find it. I convince myself it must have fallen out of my coat and is laying in my car. Yep, not there either. Maybe I somehow left it at work. Nope, not there either. Shit, not good. Now, my winter coat doesnt have the deepest pockets and my wallet does have a tendency to fall out of those pockets when i get out of my car. So the only other place it can be is in the parking garage of my gym in downtown Pittsburgh, which means most likely, it is no longer there. I called my gym, no trace of it. I tried to call the parking garage, but the phone just rang and rang. So I will have to check once I get there. Nothing sucks more than losing your wallet 2 weeks before Christmas when only 2 gifts have been purchased so far.

And that my friends is my 24 hours of crap.

Sorry to hear your day has been shitty. We all have them...just to knock us off our block everyone in a while.

I have this thoery that, whenever you lose cash that you are bound to get it back in other ways.

Check with your HR department - you might be able to convert your previous time off to medical leave.

Good advice from NewLeaf. I feel bad for you, but as intelligent as you are, it is your responsibility to be pretty damn familiar with your employe benefits such as number of sick and vacation days, how they accrue, and the number used to date. I hope it all works out for you.
