Found It!
On Monday I said that i was going to view some more apartments that the bf made appointments to see. Well turns out one of those places is going to be our new home for at least a year. We got an awesome deal on the loft so we couldn't pass it up. It is in an old school building conveniently called the School House Lofts. It is only 1/2 mile from my house and only 2 blocks away from the huge park that overlooks the city.
We move in March 6Th which I simply cannot wait for. To tell you about the place, its is a loft so two floors with the top floor only having my room there. On the first floor is another bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and 3 or 4 huge windows overlooking the northside of Pittsburgh and the top of the skyscrapers downtown. Someone was still living in the apartment when we went to look at it which was a little odd, so I didn't get any pictures but the one below is from their brochure thingy so just picture it without the gaudy 80s furniture.
We go furniture shopping this weekend to buy living room furniture which I am very excited about. The bf is going to purchase the couch and coffee table and I will be purchased a flat screen TV sometime soon. So yeah. I'm happy!

Dangerous
A man was shot one block away from my house this morning at 10am. Its crazy that these gangsters are now taking out their foes in broad daylight now and at a McDonald's parking lot no less. It seems as though gangs have been prospering throughout Pittsburgh lately. And sadly enough, they are no longer staying in their drug ridden ghettos. They seem to infiltrating the areas that Pittsburgh is trying to clean up and where families and children live. I wish we could just give these assholes an island where they can all live and kill eachother.

Apartment Hunting
I have been on the lookout for a new apartment now for quite some time, and I have to say that this experience has not been fun. It seems as though my boyfriend and I have different opinions on what is livable and what isnt. Because I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking meals for my man, I require a nice large kitchen. I would prefer nice countertops, newer appliances, and large amounts of cabinet space. I tend to be picky when it comes to my living quarters because i will in fact live there, sleep there, fuck there, and bathe there. So I want it to be clean and cute.
The bf and I have decided what we can both afford so that we can save money and in a year or two buy a house. But I feel we have allocated enough money for a monthly payment that will allow us to live in something nice. Not something spectacular, but something nice possibly something even with granite countertops in the kitchen. But we seem to be running into duds. Pittsburgh is a very old city, so most of the housing around the city is very old and not exactly updated. So that is what we are running into. It also doesnt help that the location I want to live in is not exactly the safest area, but it is close to every major highway and downtown.
All of these factors have led this apt hunt to be very stressful. If I tend to like something, the bf doesnt, and vice versa. I just dont want to settle on a dingy apartment when I know the right one is out there. We are looking at more apartments today and I have put in a few inquiries with people who are tyring to rent out there apartments, so hopefully I will find something soon.

Crazy People
Crazy people live in my apt building. Well, one to be exact. There is a couple that lives upstairs from mine, and lets just say they have some relationship issues. As the girlfriend put it, "We are getting married, but I know we are going to get a divorce."
Straight people. I know.
She said that to me knowing very well that i am not even allowed to marry the person I love. But whatever. So anyways, the time is roughly 11:45 at last night and I am laying in bed trying to sleep when I hear a loud banging on our door and the fiance of this girl who already knows she is going to get a divorce from a marriage that hasnt even happened yet is shouting for her to get her ass down stairs.
Now let me preface this story by letting you know that this isnt really new. They usually get into a fight, she comes into our apartment and hides in my roommates bedroom while he bangs on our door. So this is happening once again. She is upstairs and he is bangin our door down screaming about burning the apartment down, killing her cat, and destroying her computer. Sounds like a real keeper hunh?
Another side story, this is the same guy who sent me messages via Facebook telling me I was unclassy because I wrote a post on my blog about my roommate not paying bills just one week ago. Talk about being a hypocrite.
So, after about 30 minutes of this going on I start screaming at him that he better stop or I am going to call the cops. So he stops for maybe 10 minutes than starts back up again. So I do what i said I was going to do and called the cops. I explain to them that there is a domestic disturbance at my apartment and a crazy tenant is banging on our door and screaming so that everyone else lives in our apartment building can hear him. Classy, right?
The cops arrive and go and talk to the crazy guy upstairs. The time now is probably 1am or so, and you all can imagine how thrilled I am to be dealing with this. The cops leave, and I am thinking everything is over. I was apparently wrong. He screamed in the hall again that he was leaving shortly after the cops left, so that the whole apartment can hear and about 1 minute later returns and lets the apartment know that he lied and he is going to stay, cause you know, we all care.
Around 2am, I am sound asleep after dealing with this trash for the past 2 hours, and can you believe he is once again banging on our door screaming! I literally jumped out of my bed when he started again. I seriously couldnt believe it. Some people just dont know when to walk away back to the trailer park. He threatens to break our doors down if we dont open them, at which point I plug my ears with my fingers and attempt to block the pounding and screaming. He does eventually go away, thank god, and allows all the tenants of our building to fall back asleep.
This guy is obviously oozing class and maturity right? He apparently took a lesson in Class 101.
I hope the girlfriend finally breaks up with this guy and gets him out of our apartment buildings life. I honestly am still shocked that someone lacks the decency to know better than to pound on someone elses door in the middle of the night while screaming. Its unbelievable. I hope she kicks his ass out and he can go back to the trailer park where he probably came from so that I can go back to getting a good nights sleep.

V-Day
Since Valentines Day is is only 2 days away, I thought I should mention it. This year is going to be quite non-exciting for me and the bf. Because we are moving into a new place, we are trying not to waste money for the time being. Last year, we went to one of the finest restuarants in Pittsburgh and ate one of the most amzing and expensive meals I have ever had. After our $200 meal, we celebrated by rubbing our man parts together. It was fun.
This year, it is going to be much more low key. No elaborate 5 course meal dinners or anything. Instead, we are going to the Pittsburgh International Auto Show with another couple and then we are gonna go have a quaint dinner at a cute little Thai restaurant.
